School Days

The boys are settling into their routine of school. When we arrive at school, Casen and Camden are both so excited to sit by each other and eat breakfast. From what the teachers tell me, Casen is an awesome eater and eats LOTS for breakfast. From what I can gather, Camden is doing good in class, however Casen on the other hand is not being a very good listener. This is no surprise as he is not a good listener at home either! Apparently Casen does not sit doing circle time as he should and sometimes Camden tells me that he hears Ms. Caroline telling Casen to get on his nap mat during nap time. When I pick the boys up, I always ask Casen if he got in trouble at school, to which he proudly tells me he did!  That boy . . . .I tell you what!!! Luckily Camden seems to be doing well, however sometimes gets in trouble for talking.

Occasionally Camden comes home with a sticker somewhere on his body that he receives from the sticker fairy. She apparently visits during nap time and leaves stickers on the children that are fast asleep. The first time, the sticker was on his face and he was thrilled that she had visited. The next day he did not have a sticker when I picked him up, so I asked him if the Sticker Fairy visited that day, to which he told me she did. When I asked him why he did not receive a sticker, he told me it was because he was not asleep. He preceded to tell me that he intentionally stayed awake to see who the sticker fairy was and now he knows it is Ms. Brittney. Uh oh, this ought to make certain holidays a bit more tricky!!!

Goodbye Summer

Dear Summer,

I know I say this every year, but I can not believe it is time for us to say goodbye. I have enjoyed our time together and appreciate all the great days you gave us as a family to enjoy together. I will admit, last year I was not so sad to see you go as you were a bit challenging with a 3 year old and one year old. But this year was a different story. With the boys being two and four, you were much more pleasant. We enjoyed all sorts of fun activities in your rays of sunshine and also enjoyed some lazy days when it rained. I loved learning things about my boys I did not know, like the fact that Casen loves breakfast, so much so that he ate breakfast twice daily. He would eat right after he woke up, and then about an hour or so later when his brother would eat. It was neat watching Camden's love of super hero's, namely Spider Man, blossom. I also loved being able to watch him be a loving, protective big brother. Regardless of where we went or what we were doing, Camden was always watching out for Casen, teaching him things along the way.

Camden is already looking forward to seeing you next year, as he gets to go to Kindergarten after you visit and he can hardly wait. And of course he is already trying to figure out where we will go on vacation once you arrive.

So, farewell to you. We look forward to seeing you again so that we once again can spend more time together as a family. I can only imagine that our time together will only get better as the boys get older. Thank you for all the great memories you helped our family create. (And of course I will attach some pictures to remind you of the great fun we had.)

First Day of School

I am scheduled to return to work tomorrow and Shane starts on Friday, so we had planned on the boys returning to school this Friday. However, this past Friday was the boys open house at their school and after their naps that day, Camden woke up with fever and was unable to go to open house which crushed him. Since that time he has been begging to go to school. So we let the boys sleep in a little, fed them breakfast and then I took them to school.

We are so fortunate that the boys again have awesome teachers! Camden has Ms. Brittney and Mrs. Kathy, who both Mason and Braden had when they went to school there. Casen has two teachers who he has had in the past, both whom we adore - Ms. Caroline and Ms. Nataly. That makes life easier on us all!

When I dropped the boys off, Camden was so excited to see his friends however Casen was crying so I just had to walk away with him crying - I hate that, but I do know it will get easier for us both. When Shane picked them up, they both had an awesome day and were so excited that they were able to see and play with their friends.

When I got home, the boys had a lot to talk about, however they were a bit worn out and spent some town just winding down watching shows on their phones. I love how they like to just hang out together! We are definitely looking forward to a great year!

T-ball Season 2014 Is In the Books.

Camden's first season of playing T-ball is now officially in the books. He did great - and I am not just saying that because I am his mother. He and Shane would practice during the week, and his practice definitely paid off. Now don't get me wrong, he has a long way to go before he is an MLB player, however his improvement over the summer was very fun to watch. : )

I love the glove sticking out of his pocket

Camden was very excited that his Nana and Poppa Ron as well as Kelsey, Shanelle, Gavin and Malachi who came to watch the final game of his season.

After the game, they had a trophy ceremony where he was presented a trophy and Shane was presented a plaque. I do believe Camden made Shane a very proud daddy!

I love this picture!
