100th Day of School

Today marked the 100th day of school for the boys. Our task was to create a shirt with 100 'something' on it. After perusing Pinterest, we decided on fingerprints.

We had a fun time making our shirts! I guess I need to start thinking of ideas in preparation for this task in the years to come . . .

Indoor Soccer Season Comes to an Ends

Today marked the end of Camden's first indoor soccer season. As any parent likes to see, he improved with each game and scored two goals his last two games. Indoor soccer is a very fast, action packed game so it was great fun watching he and his teammates.

Nana and Poppa Ron made it for his last game.

Unfortunately we will not be playing soccer this spring, but instead will be playing T-ball. I, of course, have mixed emotions about this because I dearly love the soccer team we have played on the past several years and love watching the game, but Camden wanted to play T-ball instead. Oh well, it is fun watching Camden play any sport. He loves being outdoors and regardless of what he is doing, he is constantly smiling while he is doing it.

My Little Tumbler

For two and a half years, Casen has enjoyed watching Camden play sports. He has never once complained about doing it, and in fact, enjoys watching his 'brothough". With it being winter and the weather not always allowing the boys to go outside at school, we wanted to find something for Casen to do where he could expend some energy while having fun. So, we opted for tumbling.

Tonight was his first class and he loved it. He learned how to do somersaults, walked on balance beams, jumped on trampolines and hung on bars. It was great fun and he can't wait to go back next week!

Starting Off the New Year Right

When Melissa was at our house on Monday, she asked if I wanted to run a 10K with her, Shawn and Braden on New Year's Day. Her whole family was to run, but Mason ended up having soccer practice so was not able to make it. The weather forecast was horrible with cold and rain, but I went ahead and agreed. I can assure you this morning when I got up, I was wondering what the heck she got me in to!

When we arrived at Sam Houston Raceway for the Run Houston 10K it was drizzly and cold.

I was freezing while waiting for the race to start, but within a minute into the race, I was fine and dandy. My finishing time was 1:00:28.3, which was four minutes faster than my last 10K. Melissa, Braden and I stayed together the entire time - Shawn was running the 5K so we did not run with him.

Partaking in our celebratory beer
I was extremely proud of Braden, as this was his first 10K and he finished second in his age group which was 14 and under.

Next race for Melissa and me is the Woodland's Half Marathon at the end of February - I honestly think I have lost my mind!!!
