Happy Easter

Happy Easter!!! We woke up this morning before the boys, so luckily were there to see their faces when they saw their Easter baskets. As he does every year, the Easter bunny brought them a pair of pajamas - which is always a hit and lots of candy. And of course, no Easter basket is complete without a chocolate bunny!

Top is Casen's, bottom is Camden's

I think Camden's favorite thing in his basket was his ring pops and Casen's were his M&M's. Camden is definitely a hard candy kind of kid and Casen likes chocolate.

After the boys had their naps, they went for an Easter egg hunt in the front yard.

Casen found his share of eggs

Camden is a good egg finder. He did so good to make
sure he left plenty for Casen to find.

Easter Eggstravaganza 2014

Today was our church's annual Easter Eggstravaganza where they have literally thousands and thousands of eggs for the kids to hunt. They had a giant inflatable, train, ferris wheel, snow cones and more. Shane's sister and her family as well as his parents came and enjoyed the festivities with us. I believe a fun day was had by all!

Museum of Natural Science

Camden was invited by one of his previous classmates to a dinosaur birthday party at the Museum of Natural Science. Since we have not been, we were so excited to be able to go not only to celebrate his friend's birthday, but also to see all of the exciting things the museum has. Camden enjoyed himself, but I got tickled because he kept asking where the toys were? : )

I loved the dinosaurs party hats

The kids were able to dig in sand to find
a fossil (a dinosaur's tooth) which they made
 a necklace out of

After the party, we had free reign to go all around the museum and see all the other neat things they have.

One of the things I have been wanting to do is go the the butterfly center they have. Camden, believe it or not, was afraid of the butterflies and did not want to stay in there very long. After he realized that they were not going to hurt him, I was able to talk him into to staying in there a bit longer.

Week of The Young Child

This week was Week of the Young Child at the boys school and the theme for the week was Celebrating Children One Book at a Time. As usual, they make it a fun and enjoyable week for the kiddos. Each day they focused on a children's book and did different activities that were related to that book. On Wednesday it was Llama, Llama Red Pajama so the kids were able to wear their pajamas to school. This is hands down one of Camden's favorite days of the year. He LOVES to be able to wear his pajamas to school! And from the way things look, Casen is following in his footsteps!

Today was Pete the Cat Rocking in My School Shoes, which apparently Pete sometimes wears two different shoes. So, the kids were to wear different colored tennis shoes.

It was a fun week for all the kids. We are very fortunate to have them at a school that loves the kids and celebrates them.

A Good Day

Today was just a great day. It started with Camden having a soccer game this morning in which he rocked!! I think in every picture I took he was scoring a goal.

Nana and Poppa Ron came not only to watch Camden's game, but also to take care of the boys so that Shane and I could celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. We ended up going shopping for me some new running shoes and of course ended up buying things for the boys. We then went to the movies (which we have not done in probably 5 years or so) where we saw 'God's Not Dead' and then went and ate at Pappadeaux. We ended the night by stopping at Starbucks for coffee (and since I gave up chocolate for lent, I had to get a vanilla latte, which was not that bad - but definitely not as good as chocolate!) It was a great afternoon/evening together - something we definitely needed.
