Houston, We Have Hair - Again

Since I documented Camden's underarm hair growth, it is only fair that I document Casen's. Honestly, I am not sure why I am doing this only 4 months after Camden found his, but it is what it is. Maybe Camden had it before he even realized it and now that he found it, Casen has been probably checking his armpits daily. LOL.

I thought Camden would be upset that Casen already has as much armpit hair as he does, however Camden is not the least bit upset by it because his pediatrician told him the longer it takes him to hit puberty, the more time he has to grow. :)

Easter Weekend

With it being Easter weekend, we had a nice three day weekend. Friday afternoon I dropped Camden off at one of his friend's house and one of the mom's took a group of boys over to the intermediate school where they all played some basketball and then another mom picked them up and brought them back. They hung out, played video games, rode bikes and had a good time.

Meanwhile, Casen and I pose for pictures with the dog. :)

Yesterday, Casen and his team played in a one day tournament at the Scrapyard in Conroe. Coach Paul gave each of the boys a wooden bat for Easter.  The bats have the player's name and date engraved on them as well as the following 'He has rise, He has risen so that Easton will have eternal life.' When the coach gave the example to the person making the bat, he used his son's name (Easton) and the person ended up putting Easton's name on every bat. LOL Regardless, it was a very thoughtful gift.

We left home a bit after 8:00 am and after playing all day and winning the Scrap Yard Easter Showdown, ended up not getting home until close to 11:00 pm.

Thank the Lord for Ms. Susan, our
nextdoor neighbor, who loves Nina
and will gladly let her out and love on her
when we have long days like today.

This morning started with the boys checking out at all the good things the Easter bunny brought in their Easter basket.

We then headed to church and found Melissa, Shawn and Mason and took a Easter family pic, but unfortunately we were missing Braden.

After we got home it was time for the Easter egg hunt. As the boys get older, the eggs start containing more money and less candy. It is of course always a race to see who can find the big silver egg. This year Camden found it first, but in his excitement, when he found it he shook it and heard nothing he threw it down and exclaimed he didn't want it thinking it was a trick and was empty. Well, lo and behold, it had money in it, so Casen scooped it right up. Camden didn't think it was fair that Casen was able to then have the money since he was the one who originally found it, and was rather dramatic regarding the news as you can see in this pic. Needless to say, some lessons were learned today.

Aside from that disappointment, all in all the Easter egg hunt was fun.

Field Day Fun

Today was Camden's last field day since he is about to be leaving the intermediate school and head to junior high. I am not sure he necessarily wanted me there, but I am absorbing these lasts while I can. Also, it gave me an opportunity to help Shane since he and his co-worker are in charge of field day.

Since I know how uncool it is for your mom to be hanging around at this age, I made sure to try and keep my distance and just watch him from afar. I did however sneak in a few photo ops when given the chance.

Camden and his buds.

This event was one of a few timed events that
you could participate in for a medal. Camden
may have had an unfair advantage since he is the PE
coaches son and has played on this many more
times than his classmates, however he came away
 with the gold.

I went and snuck a picture with Casen during
his recess time.

Camden has the perfect toes for marble grabbing.

A Weekend of Camden's Favorites

Today was a beautiful day supporting Camden in all the things he loves! We started the morning at the Superintendent Fun Run where Camden ran a 5K and did awesome. He finished fourth in his age group, which was 12 and 13 year olds, and he was the first 12 year old to cross the line. While Shane and Casen cheered Camden on, my coworkers and I volunteered at the First Aid booth.

We then headed over to Tomball High School for the Fine Arts Festival where some of his artwork was displayed. Every year I am in awe of his handiwork and love that he has an artistic ability that I have none of.

We finished up our day watching a soccer game. The longhorns even came out to watch some of the game. :)

Divide and Conquer

As is the case quite a bit lately, we had to divide and conquer this weekend. Casen had a tournament in Beaumont while Camden had two soccer games here in Cypress, so Camden and I were only able to catch the Sunday games. It was a beautiful weekend watching and supporting the boys.
