Someone Is Standing

Today while at work, I received this text message from Casen's teacher:

And so you can see those pictures better:

Yea!!! Perhaps he won't be scooting on his booty his whole life!

A Weekend Visitor

This weekend we had a visitor, Shane's Uncle Ira. He is in the process of moving from Alabama to Colorado to go to a Bible College there so we had the pleasure of having him visit us for a few days on his way to his destination. The boys loved having him here since he devoted a lot of his time to playing with them. Also, since we ate out a few times and Camden loves to go to restaurants, he was in hog heaven.

Unfortunately on Saturday, I had to work so they all hung around the house and played.

After church on Sunday, Ira played with the boys for awhile and then he and Shane took Camden to the movies to see Planes while Casen and I stayed at home and hung out together.

he wanted to be pushed

First Day of School

Not all Cy-Fair employees returned to work today, however as a school nurse, so that I can be ready for registration that starts tomorrow, I returned back to work today. Shane also needed to go to work so that he could get his room ready for his students return in several weeks. So of course, due to us going to work, that meant that the boys returned back to school. Camden was so ready to return to school. After we learned that Ms. Dona, his teacher from last year, was returning as his teacher, I was so relieved and excited for him since he adores her and she is a wonderful person and teacher. Since Casen still is not walking, which is a prerequisite to move up to the toddler room,  he was heading back to the same room he left last school year, which meant he was going to have Ms. Karen as one of his teachers (which I just LOVE her too!!!).

Everyone had a great first day back! After supper, Shane suggested we head to Baskin Robbins for ice cream, which was a fun treat to top off our day. Out of all the flavors offered, Camden chose Cherries Jubilee - who's child is this????? No chocolate????

Casen shared strawberry ice cream with his daddy - once again what is wrong with these people?? However, in Casen's defense, he really doesn't care what flavor it is, he just loves ice cream! Shane had a hard time getting to eat his ice cream because Casen thought every bite should be for him.

Me - I had a scoop of chocolate almond and a scoop of fudge brownie, nothing but chocolate!!! Great way to begin the school year!

Off to see Stinker

My sister and her boys have not seen my uncle is several years, so we decided to take a day trip to go and visit him in Port Arthur. The only day we could find that worked with all of our schedules was today, however he had to be at work at 3:00 so we were only able to stay a few hours. We visited for a bit and then he took us all out to lunch. Between a spilled coke, milk shooting out of a straw onto Casen and Stinker and other chaos that goes along with four boys while eating at a restaurant, he was so thrilled to get to spend time with our boys!

14 Months

It is so hard to believe that Casen is already 14 months old - I know I have said this a million times, but where does the time go? Just a quick update - scooting on his hiney is still his main means of transportation. He is still not fond of standing much less attempting to walk. He loves to eat, and sometimes out eats his brother (who basically is a good eater). He is a bit picky though and will hold his food up to his tongue to check the texture of it before he puts it in his mouth.

He loves peanut butter for lunch with Natural Cheetos

He just started wearing big boy pajamas, which honestly just about kills me. He is wearing 18 month shirts and shorts and I just bought him new shoes for school which are size 5. He is still in a size 3 diaper.

Big boy pajamas

He has started hugging me tightly around my neck which I absolutely adore! He has not expanded his vocabulary very much, but enjoys playing with anything, especially if it is Camden's (luckily Camden shares very well so this has not been too much of  an issue). We have started having him taking one nap a day which generally lasts from 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Unfortunately when he returns to school he will be returning to the older infant room since he is not walking, so will have to return to 2 naps a day, but I am sure he will readjust. : ) And of course, he is such a momma's boy and if I am around, he thinks I need to be holding him or playing with him (which makes it difficult to get things done).

They both love to look at their reflections in the refrigerator.

Summer Play Date

Summer is coming to an end, and unfortunately a hand full of Camden's friends will not be returning to his school. Luckily though, today we got together and had a play date with several of his friends and teachers from his school. I have not hard the heart to tell him that many of his friends there today will not be in his class again, but I am hoping and praying he is so thrilled with just going back to school that it does not affect him that much. Something exciting we did find out today is that Ms. Dona will again be his teacher, as she moved up to his room. However, we were sad that for the first time in 3 years, Ms. Caroline will not be one of my boys teacher. : (

Tomball Night

Once a year, Tomball has an event they call Tomball Night. It is an event to promote Tomball's businesses and what they have to offer. There was a lot of free food and fun and to say the least, the boys had a great time. If Camden went on the blow up slide once, he went 25 times. He was enjoying trying different tricks like the big kids were doing and had no fear!

Woo Hoo!
