Easter 2012

The Easter Bunny came and visited our house today. He left the boys some fun things in their Easter baskets as well as some eggs out front for Camden to find. I am so glad that bunny remembers the candy that mommy and daddy like too!

Camden was so proud the Easter Bunny knew he
liked the color blue and got him blue pajamas

And yes, I did let Camden wear his new Crocs with his Easter outfit, despite the fact that I had bought him new sandals to wear. He was so proud to be like Grandpa Key - so how could I tell him no?

Eggcellent Eggstravaganza

Today our church had an Easter Eggstravaganza and it was great fun for everyone. They had over 10,000 eggs, a petting zoo, swings, merry-go-round, a jump house, snow cones, popcorn, Chic-Fil-A, the Tomball Fire Department, face painting and a train. Needless to say, the boys had a great time and Camden got a ton of eggs (he filled his basket one and a half times).

I realize this picture is blurry, but I love the
pure look of happiness on Camden's face.

This evening, Nana and Poppa Ron came over so they could spend Easter with the boys. They brought Camden a soccer ball basket that had everything soccer inside including soccer eggs filled with stamps and bubbles, a stuffed bunny with a soccer ball, and of course some candy. Casen received a precious little Rabbit sock monkey.

Good Friday Fun

Today is Good Friday, so we are off from school. We spent the earlier part of the day at home, just hanging out and getting caught up with odds and ends at home. As I was cleaning house this morning, the boys were coloring together.

Later on this afternoon, I dropped of Casen to spend the night at Melissa and Shawn's while Shane, Camden and I headed to College Station to watch Alabama play softball against Texas A&M. We had a great time, despite Alabama losing by one run. I must say it kind of made me miss living in Alabama a little bit because we used to go to a lot of different Alabama athletic events and really enjoyed it.

While we were at the game, Casen was enjoying some Mexican food as well as spending time with the cousins.

Spring Party

Today the boys had their Spring Party at school, and of course Camden was thrilled. I would say that Casen was thrilled as well, but honestly he had no idea. The plan was for them to have a special lunch as well as an Easter Egg Hunt. In Camden's class, his teachers were going to have other fun activities for them as well, like pin the tail on the bunny. Even though Casen is not in the A2 class, which is kiddos who can walk or crawl, he was able to participate in their party since he is eating big boy food. I got tickled when I went to pick him up because I was told that Casen out ate everyone. He had four helpings of chicken nuggets, a whole container of yogurt, a whole container of apple sauce and puffs. Oink oink piggy wiggy!!!

According to Ms. Donna, Camden had a great time during their Easter egg hunt and found the most eggs. That's my boy!!! I am glad to know that it sounds like he is a better egg hunter than he was last year.

Eating Like a Big Boy

Casen started eating 'real' food at school this week. I have been feeding him a few different things here at home and he does a great job of putting one thing in his mouth at a time and really chewing (or gumming) it before he swallows. It was obvious he was ready for food, so after talking to his teachers and them agreeing, I gave them the green light to feed him whatever they felt fit for him to eat. So needless to say, he has had mini corn dogs, a hoagie sandwich, steak fingers with gravy, mashed potatoes, and different vegetables this week at school and whatever we eat at supper, he is eating as well. When we do try to feed him baby food, he eats a few bites and then starts playing and spitting it out, so needless to say, we can only give him a little at a time. Of course he is still drinking his formula and eating yogurt and puffs and what not, but we are definitely on the road to leaving the baby food behind.

Things I Love

There are things I absolutely love about my boys!!! First of all, the fact they get along famously is awesome. They play hard together and even wrestle already - which honestly is a bit concerning because if they do that at this age, I can only imagine what the future holds. Casen lights up anytime Camden talks to him or plays with him - it is really sweet. I just have to remind Camden that he can't be so rough, even though it doesn't seem to phase Casen when he is.

They look so serious like they are really listening to each other

And then the fun begins

Casen is a rocker. He will rock while sitting on the floor playing, in his high chair or wherever. He recently started rocking so hard in his high chair, that his chair moves across the floor backwards.

His chair started at the table . . . .
Another thing I love is Camden's organizational skills. OK, let's be honest, he may have a touch of OCD like his mother, but it makes me smile. For instance, every morning and night after he brushes his teeth, he organizes his little sink area. We have never told him to do this, he has just taken it upon himself to find a home for his items and makes sure they are exactly where they are supposed to be when he leaves the bathroom. He always puts his comb behind the faucet, his cup to the right of the faucet along with his toothpaste, his toothbrushes in their cup to the left of the faucet along with Casen's toothpaste.

I love having a shopping partner - Casen is so observant and is always checking out what others are doing - some might call that being nosey!

And finally, this picture was taken by the mom of one of Casen's friends at her daughter's first birthday party. I absolutely adore this picture and just had to share!
