May Memories

The boys had some other memories this month that I couldn't help but sharing (since we all know this is the way I keep track of memories).

Cinco de Mayo gave Casen's class a reason to celebrate and have fun. I think he looked pretty cute.

Casen is my little mischievous one - always has been and probably always will be. He gives us a run for our money to say the least. One night he came out of the shower and I noticed that he had a cut above his lip. When I asked him what happened he said he had no idea. I had him closer to take a look and noticed 3 little cuts, which my razor that hangs in the shower would have caused. I asked him if he cut himself with my razor, but of course he denies. After prying a bit, he did admit that he cut himself shaving. We had a talk about the dangers of using razors. When I went and looked in my razor, sure enough there were little peach fuzz hairs in the blades. The next day after he came home from school I asked him if anyone said anything to him about his cut above his lip. He said one of the girls asked him if he cut himself shaving. Obviously embarrassed by his shenanigans, he told her no. LOL

Since Casen has a summer birthday, his school celebrates his birthday on whatever date it is, but in the month of May. So, on May 7th, I showed up with McDonald's for lunch (his choice) and cupcakes for his classmates. He loved me being there with him to celebrate and I loved being there with him. These days will come to an end all too soon, so I cherish them as much as I can.

You can see his cut from shaving in this
picture as well. :)
Camden's best friend, Cole, invited him to go to Ifly to celebrate his birthday. Camden is becoming more of a risk taker the older he gets - which I think a big part of that goes to him riding all the fun rides at Disney. Needless to say, he had a great time flying high.

End of Year Parties and Last Day of School

Well that time of year is upon us yet again. End of the year school parties and the last day of school. I am not exactly certain where this year has gone, but it has flown by. Camden commented to me just the other day how fast this year went by. To me, if a kid thinks the year has flown by, then it must have because I always remember feeling like the school year drug along and then summer flew by.

Casen is thrilled that summer is here, however Camden is sad that school is over. Not because he is leaving his friends, but because he won't be learning new things everyday. I assured him that we would be keeping he and his brother on their toes with math and reading during the summer.

As I do each year, I attended their end of year school parties. The boys were fortunate to have good teachers this year who they loved and learned a lot from. I have no doubt they will miss their teachers!

The boys also received their end of the year awards. Honestly, I felt bad that Camden did not win first place (as he has done all other years) for the Mileage club. But, since we went to Disney, he missed two of his running days which caused him to get behind. He ended up in fourth place, but said Disney was worth it. :) He also received an award for Art Club, as well as a math award. Yay!

Casen also received a few awards. He received a character awards as well as a Reading Award. To say I am proud of my boys and what they have accomplished this year is an understatement.

And as we do each year, we took pictures our last day of school pictures and of course did a side by side comparison to see their change.

Now to enjoy a fun summer!!!!

Introducing Milton Hershey

Camden has been working in class for a month or so researching a famous person that he would bring to life in the 3rd grade Wax Museum. He decided on Milton Hershey and did a great job of learning all sorts of interesting facts about the man who made milk chocolate famous. He had to memorize facts about Mr. Hershey, make a trifold poster and present his information to his classmates earlier this week. Today, the third graders had a wax museum where they dressed up as their famous person, stood by their posters and told parents and students all about themselves. I enjoyed visiting Mr. Hershey and all the other famous people there and learning fun facts about them.

Field Day 2019

As we do each year, Shane and I took off to go and watch the boys enjoy their field day. It just so happened to fall on my birthday, so it was a bonus for me since I didn't have to work on my birthday. Casen's field day was in the morning and Camden's was in the afternoon, so we made a day of it.

After we got home from the fun filled day, we celebrated my birthday with cards, gifts and then out to eat for dinner so this momma didn't have to cook.

Casen, who is not my artist, followed some on-line art classes and drew my the following pictures for my birthday. Sweet boy!!!

A few months ago I bought patio furniture and for Mother's day I received the rug and today my friend Ann gave me some plants and Shane and the boys gave me pillows to bring it all together. The boys LOVE 'relaxing' outside and now Camden can't wait for me to landscape the backyard.

After dinner I was serenaded with the birthday song and then yummy ice cream cake!
