Christmas Day

Camden and Casen must have been good boys this year because Santa made a visit to our house. Camden got what he asked for, which was a Nintendo DS and he also received a sleeping bag. In his stocking he got one of his favorite things, silly socks, Stuffy (from Doc McStuffins) and M&Ms. Casen received a V-tech airport and in his stocking, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse silverware and M&Ms.

We had a great morning!!!! After we opened gifts and then ate breakfast the boys played with all their new toys. While they did that, I got everyone packed up so we could head to Lumberton to stay with Shane's parents on our first stop in route to Alabama and Georgie. We hope everyone got everything they wanted and had a blessed Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas

The Anticipation Awaits

It is Christmas Eve and the boys could not be more excited. I had forgot to mention several weeks ago that Camden received a letter from Santa and he was thrilled that Santa knew what he wanted and was coming to see him. One of my favorite parts of the letter is the P.S. at the bottom where Santa says, "Camden - Santa loves it when you are the best Camden you can be." (Something his daddy says to him all time.)

Santa requested food for he and his reindeer, so Camden got his reindeer food to feed Santa's reindeer and made sure to sprinkle it out so they too could have something to snack on upon the arrival to the Hood household.

We left Santa two cookies that Camden decorated as well as some milk.

The boys were excited to wear their Santa PJs in anticipation of his visit.

The real reason for the season

The magic of Christmas is so fun with little ones around. We can hardly wait to celebrate Christmas tomorrow!

Cookies for Santa

This year, the boys and I were invited by Shawn's sister, Valerie, to come over and decorate cookies for Santa with all of Mason and Braden's cousins. I was thrilled that Valerie invited us over because I love things like that were families get together and make memories and traditions. I decided that I would just take Camden, since Casen is still in a phase where he wants to only be held by me and honestly can make things miserable for others if he does not get his wishes fulfilled if I am around. (Now if I am nowhere around, he is the most pleasant little guy!). So Camden and I rode with Melissa and her family over to Valerie's where we had a great time playing and visiting with the in-laws! First on the agenda was some playing and eating pizza and other snacks. Then, the decorating began. I must say, Camden's cookies were quite artistic, to say the least. Thankfully Mason helped Camden with his decorating.

It was then time to make popcorn balls. I have never made those, so found that whole process interesting. I didn't let Camden have too much involvement with them at the beginning for fear he would burn his hands, but he did end up making one after the syrup that makes the popcorn stick together cooled off just a bit.

Christmas with the Key Family

To finish off our Christmas weekend, today we celebrated Christmas with the Key family. Melissa had us all over to her house where she cooked a nice dinner, which we enjoyed first, and then opened gifts.

This is probably my most favorite picture from the day - my dad with three of his grandsons.

Casen received a Nabi Jr, a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, ornaments and a really cool tooth holder that now both Melissa's boys and my boys have to hold their baby teeth.

Camden was really excited with all his cool gifts. He received Bucky (Jake's pirate ship), an Alabama soccer ball, a neat army set that has army men, ATVs, jeeps, etc., ornaments and money.

Money!?!?!?!?!
We had a nice time and I must say, as much as I love having holidays at our house, it was nice to go and have others do the cooking! : ) It was a great weekend being able to see all of our family and enjoy time together.

Christmas with the Hood Family

This weekend we will be celebrating Christmas with both our families. Today we headed over to Sugarland to have Christmas with Shane's family. While Shane's mom made breakfast pizza the boys played and got some of their energy out.

We enjoyed the pizza, ate desserts that Shanelle and I made and then we opened gifts. Camden received all sorts of Jake and the Neverland Pirates things - pajamas, house shoes, Captain Hook's boat, Jake's sailwagon, and a stuffed Jake. He loved them all!

Casen received several Mickey Mouse things - a stuffed Mickey Mouse and a Mickey fire truck. He also got a sit and spin which I think I like more than him!

Tooth #14

The bottom right tooth finally broke through, but luckily no fever this time!!!  I knew it wasn't going to be too far behind the one on the left.
