Casen Turns Two

Today is Casen's second birthday and we celebrated with an airplane themed party. Everyone we invited received an envelope made from atlas paper which contained a boarding pass with the information regarding the party.

Both of his sets of grandparents came as well as Shane's sister and her family and my sister and her family. Casen's buddies (and my good friends) Pam and Shana also came to celebrate. Of course Grandma Key made the birthday cake, which turned out perfect (despite my pickiness - thank goodness she knows how to handle me!)

The sweet birthday boy
We first let the kids go outside and play on an inflatable bouncy house that had a water slide. Casen was feeling better, but the Prednisone had him rather cranky and irritable. That being said, he had no desire to go down the water slide when everyone else was going down it. He would jump some in the bounce part, but mainly wanted me to hold him.

I love Casen's facial expressions
he has while jumping

Camden had a blast
Casen had no desire to get in the water.

He would have much rather been in his Momma's arms.
Gavin enjoyed going down the slide
Malachi had fun playing in the water
Braden had fun too!
Afterwards, we served box lunches with chips and sandwiches (like you would have received back in the day on an airplane). Everyone enjoyed cake and ice cream and then Casen then opened his gifts and the boys played more until it was time for everyone to leave.

We served boxed lunches (as you would
have received on a plane)

After everyone had left, the boys took their naps. Once they woke up, they wanted to go outside and play some more. Luckily, this time we convinced Casen to go down the slide and he had a ball.

He was getting closer to getting in

I just love this action shot : )
And this one too!

Thanks to everyone who came and helped us celebrate Casen's second birthday. He had a great time and enjoyed seeing every one.
