Christmas Festivities

The week leading up to Christmas break is always filled with fun festivities for the boys. As he always does, Cooper brought pajamas for the boys to wear.

On Thursday, Casen had his class party and had no desire for me to go. :( After not being able to go to parties last school year due to COVID, I was sad he didn't want me there since this is his last year at the elementary campus. I agreed not to go to his Christmas party, but told him he had no choice when it comes to the end of the year party, that I would be there! When he got home, he wanted to give me my Christmas present he made at school a little early so that I could enjoy it longer. I always love when teachers take the time to allow their students to make a gift for their parents. They are always so proud of their work and of course, it is something I can look back for years to come and marvel at just how small Casen's finger prints once were.

That evening, Casen went with his good friend Evan to a Candy Cane hunt in the Woodlands while Camden and I went to the local Lions Club to help prepare Cheer Baskets for local families in need.

The boys only had school 1/2 day on Friday. Camden's school had their Christmas festivities and Shane went in and snapped a few pics.

Later that evening Nana and Poppa's church was having a Christmas Fest so they asked if the boys could go. We already had plans to go to their house on Saturday to celebrate Christmas, so Shane met them half way on and dropped off the boys so they could go and have a good time with their cousins. They had fun playing games, eating good food and came home with all sorts of loot.

Saturday morning, Shane and I headed to Lumberton to celebrate Christmas with the Hood family. 

The boys were thrilled with their gifts and enjoyed spending time with their cousins. We only stayed for the day as we had lots of packing and preparation to do for our ski trip we leave for tomorrow.

Houston, We Have Hair

Since I use this blog as documentation of our life events, I felt it only fair to share yet another milestone. :) Several nights ago as I was putting the boys to bed and we were reading the Bible, Camden was playing with his arm pit. When I asked what he was doing, he proudly told me he was playing with his armpit hair. and that his left has more than his right. I tried to look and see it, but my old eyes couldn't focus in to see anything. So, tonight before he headed up to bed, I asked Camden to let me take a pic of his armpit hair.  He was more than happy to let me snap a few shots and lo and behold, there IS armpit hair!!!!

Flag Football Champions

It was another divide and conquer weekend as Camden was playing in a the Volt Classic Soccer Tournament in Missouri City and Casen had his flag football tournament at the Farm League. We started Friday evening off with two football games. Saturday and Sunday were a combination of soccer and football. By the time the weekend was finished, Casen had played 6 football games and Camden 3 soccer games. Camden's team was within points of playing in the championship game, but came up a smidge short as they had 1 win and two ties. Casen's team ended up winning the championship of the 'B' bracket. It has been a fun season for both boys. Their teams have really grown as a group and improved vastly since the beginning of the season. We are looking forward to Spring and more soccer for Camden and basketball and baseball for Casen.

Deck the Trails

This morning Shane and Camden headed out early for 'Deck the Trails', a fun run put on by his school in order to raise money for the Library. They had a huge turnout and despite this being a fun run, Camden pushed himself and ended up finishing third.

Later this afternoon, Camden went to his friend Tyler's Laser Tag birthday party. He had a great time with the group of boys that were there from his school.

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a play off football game at the Berry Center. My alma mater, LCM, was playing and I knew one of my best child hood friends was going to be there as her daughter is a senior and they attend all the games. It was such a joy seeing Jeannie and her family and getting to catch up with her. They say childhood friends are the best friends and seeing Jeannie reminded me of that!

He's Back

December 1st in our house can only mean one thing . . . . Cooper returns!!!!

They boys are looking forward to the Christmas season and finding Cooper in all of his crazy hiding places.

Thanksgiving 2021

This year we spent Thanksgiving at Shane's parents. We spent time visiting, eating s'mores, online shopping and watching movies.

Before we headed home on Friday, we all went out to Ron and Derenda's friends house to shoot guns. Since the boys have had practice in the past, they did really well shooting at the targets. 

After shooting guns, the boys decided to ride a little motorcycle that Mr. Terry had set up "like a carnival ride". Malachi decided to go first, and despite only being able to go in a circle, he was gripping the handle bars too tightly and kept giving it gas. He ended up about 10 yards past the motorcycle.

Camden was ready to ride, but after seeing Malachi get thrown off, he kept second guessing if he really wanted to try it or not. After we finally talked him into it, and he too got thrown off. LOL.

Next up was Casen, and I will let you guess what happened to him. . . 

So Kelsey decided to show the kids just how to do it . . .

Finally, Nana gave it a shot. She was the smart one though, because she had Mr. Terry take the bike off of the pole he had rigged and she was off and riding through the pasture.

Since I had been doing a lot of on-line shopping prior to us going to Lumberton and then while we were in Lumberton, we had plenty of packages waiting for us. In a few of the boxes were the boys skiing stuff I had ordered for our upcoming ski trip. They couldn't wait to try it on and see how it fit. After they got it on, Camden asked for his pictures to be taken so he could see what he looked like.

Casen then decided he too needed his picture taken, but he wanted to pose. 

He felt like he was smiling too much in the first picture, so asked that another be taken.

Lord, help me . . .
