Elite Soccer Camp

This week the boys attended their last camp of the summer, the Elite Soccer Camp at UScore. While Camden was excited, Casen was a bit apprehensive (as were we). If you recall, last year Casen basically cried his way through the first two or three days of camp and then finally by the last day, succumbed to the fact that it really was fun and he liked it. This year, the first day we dropped him off the water works started, but we gave him a hug and walked away. Within a minute or two he was dry eyed and enjoying himself. Bless his heart, he really did not want to cry, but I think he gets anxious at new things, and he can't help but shed some tears. Luckily, he is realizing it and getting control of it quickly.

The camp was an all day 9:00am - 3:00pm camp. Through out the week the boys learned some new things and really seemed to be enjoying themselves. They were tired by the time they got home and the evenings were quiet because they were just wore out.

A treat at Bahama Bucks
Today was the last day of the camp and they ended it with a World Cup tournament. They have had games through out the week to set them up for today's final games. The boys played awesome and Camden's game ended in penalty kicks. Talk about stressful! All the boys had kicked and they were tied up. They started another round with them, and whoever missed or got blocked first would be the loser. Unfortunately, Camden kicked a tad high on his second PK and his team lost. But oh my gosh the excitement of watching it end like that was amazing!!

At the end of the tournament, they pick kiddos from each age division to award trophies to for different attributes. Both boys earned the PACE award which is the overall award chosen by each of their coaches for having a good attitude, working hard, being a good teammate and being a good listener. We are so very proud of our boys for earning this award.

Now let's bring on another soccer season!
