Casen Starts T-ball

Today was Casen's first T-ball game and he could not have been any more excited. Since he has been practicing all Spring with Camden, he was glad to finally have his turn at it. We signed him up for I-9 since practice and games are all on Saturday and since we had a good experience with Camden when he played with them. Shane signed up to be the assistant coach, however when the other coach arrived to practice (20 minutes late) and said he was a basketball player and never played baseball, he pretty much is leaving everything up to Shane.

Casen played a great game and volunteered to be the first to play first base (which is basically the only position they have aside from all the others standing in the field waiting for the ball to come to them). He did great hustling, tagging people out (even though there are not outs in I-9) and hitting the ball. You could definitely tell that he has an older brother who played because he was one of only a few who knew to run to first base after he hit the ball.

We have the tradition of the boys being able to pick a restaurant that they want to eat at for their birthdays. Since we were on the road for his birthday, we decided we would go out to eat for Casen's birthday dinner tonight. He picked Texas Roadhouse so he could eat the peanuts and throw the shells on the floor. Also, I don't think he wanted to wear the sombrero and get whipped creme on his face at our Mexican restaurant. He did not ride the saddle, however they did bring him ice cream, which he shared with Camden.
