A Goose Egg Worth Remembering

On Sunday, we were at our friends house for Lifegroup. While there, Casen was in the kitchen talking to me, and as he turned to head upstairs, his feet slid out from under him and he landed forehead first on the tile floor. Immediately, a nice goose egg came up. He only complained of pain to the site, and never had a headache or any other signs of concussion. We got home and put ice on it and he of course was bruising before he even went to bed.

As the days progressed, the knot on his forehead was improving and the bruising was changing colors. On Thursday I received a message from his teacher:

And by today, he had two black eyes.

This goose egg will definitely be one for the memory books!

Last Basketball Game of the Season

Today marked Camden's last basketball game of the season. His team had an awesome season - winning nearly every game. Camden really loves playing basketball and has shown a vast improvement since last year.

My photo was a little late, but Camden made this shot.

After his game today, they had an end of the season celebration where we enjoyed breakfast tacos, cupcakes and he received an Upward Basketball.

Casen had a baseball game today as well. He hustled, played well and was focused through out the game. I have a feeling he will be Shane's little baseball player!

Celebrating Dr. Seuss

This week, both boy's schools celebrated Dr. Seuess' birthday. Each day marked a different theme, which the boys participated in three out of the five.

Monday - Inside Out Day
Monday - Crazy Sock Day

Top Hot Tuesday (favorite hat) - Casen
Green Day (Green Eggs and Ham)- Camden

Wacky Wednesday
Casen - wacky socks
Camden - Mismatched clothes
Thursday the boys were to dress up as their favorite Dr. Seuss character (which neither one wanted to do) and then Friday was Go Texan day, which Camden did not want to do, and Casen had already dressed up last Friday like a cowboy, so he too chose not to either.

Spring Sports

Today marked Camden's first game playing for the Dynamos organization. We are hoping that this move will allow Camden to learn more skills and play with kids that have a love and passion for the game of soccer like he does. Unfortunately, he had to miss his basketball game today so that he could play soccer, but today, he did not seem to mind.

Casen had his first T-ball scrimmage today. Since the team received their uniforms today, they decided to try them out while scrimmaging. Casen is on the A's and is looking forward to playing. He definitely loves baseball, which I am sure makes his daddy really happy!

Camden's 7th Birthday

The years are flying by, and as of today, I now have a seven year old. It truly is hard to grasp how fast the years just tick away. I am amazed daily at the boy he is becoming - he makes this momma proud!

Yesterday, I went during Camden's lunch at school and surprised him by having lunch with him and bringing cupcakes for his class. He asks occasionally for me to come and eat with him, but as a working mom, that is not an easy task. Luckily, since I have a great principal at my school who believes in putting family first, she had no problem me leaving for a bit to celebrate Camden.

Today, after Camden's basketball game (which by the way he played awesome) we got ourselves together and headed to Urban Air Trampoline Park for his party.

One happy birthday boy!
This week, prior to Camden's party, I worked on his party favors. I don't know why I let this part of his party stress me out the most, but it seems to every time. But, thank the Lord for Pinterest! I recently saw these cute gumball tubes on Pinterest and since Camden loves gum, I figured they would be an easy fun thing.

And, since the majority of his friends all play sports, he like the idea of giving them their own personalized water bottles.

I must say, these party favors are probably my most favorite to date. I think it will be hard to beat these!

Once we got home, my sister and her boys came over and Camden opened his gifts from friends and a family.

He was so excited to get the Vivofit he has been wanting.

Camden, along with Melissa's help, read every
card that was given to him.
Finally, a bigger bike.

Basketball is Back

Today marked Camden's first basketball game of the season. He is playing Upward again. Despite issues with our coach last year, the program itself is really awesome and Camden loved it so we were ready to give it another try. It is so fun to see his improvement from last year to this year! I know he and his daddy practice a lot prior to school starting in the mornings, and it really looks like it is paying off. Along with the improvement in his skills, I notice an improvement in his confidence, which I am so grateful for. Whereas last year he would kind of stand off and watch others try to rebound or get the ball, he is all in now, getting the ball and shooting it any chance he gets.

His team this year is the Thunderbolts and from the way things look after today's games, I think they have a pretty good little team!
