This past week we wrapped up our spring/summer baseball season in Baton Rouge at the Marucci World Series.

The week started Sunday with the opening ceremony at Alex Box Stadium on the campus of LSU. There were Marucci teams from all over the country, with a team from Seoul, China also present.

The boys played four bracket games - two on Monday, one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday. Enjoy some pictures from the games.

Casen pitched well
Because we did not fare to well in our games, we did not make the playoffs. :(
Jordan, their coach, was emotional as he talked with them after their lsat game.
I have loved watching Casen continue to grow as a player and team mate. His hard work and love of the game are fun to watch.
The afternoon after our last game, we had the opportunity to tour the Marucci factory. Seeing everything that goes into making wood bats is extremely interesting.
From a piece of maple or birch to a bat.
It all started in 2002 the backyard shed of Jack Marucci, head trainer for the LSU tiger baseball team, where he carved his first wood bat.
While Casen will take a break from baseball this coming fall to play football, he will be back at in the spring. Until then, we will have our weekends open, which is something we are not very familiar with! Did you catch that? Our weekends will be open! I haven't shared it yet, but Camden has decided not to play club soccer anymore. Since he does not plan on playing in college (except possibly intramurals), he felt like he wanted to focus more on his studies and have a bit more time to do other things. I must say I am still a bit sad about it. We have lived at the soccer fields on the weekends since he was 3, so it will be a changed for all of us. But, I respect his decision and will still look forward to watching him play school soccer.
