Baseball, Choir and Friends

The past week has been filled with baseball and choir. Last weekend we played in a tournament that our prior baseball team, the Wildcatters, was also playing in. I was very excited because that meant I would get to see my girlfriends that I have so dearly missed this season, It was great seeing them and their families and catching up!

Because I have not been on my game with taking pictures, I have no actual evidence to show that Camden also had soccer games last weekend that I attended. (I have got to get better!!)

Monday was the boys last STAAR test for the school year, which was the math test. All of the 6th grade math classes at Casen's school made tie dye shirts to wear. His came out pretty good!

My parents came in town to watch the boys play their sports, however due to a very large amount of rain that we received over several days, Camden's soccer game was cancelled. They were able to attend the Children's Music Invitation at Cy Creek High School where Casen's choir competed Saturday morning as well as two baseball games in the afternoon.

We were fortunate that Casaen's baseball team got scheduled for later in the afternoon so that he could attend the choir competition. We had originally told his choir director that he would not be able to attend. She reached out to us earlier in the week double checking if he could attend, stating that "your child has a very strong voice and is an important part of our group." I replied to her that if his games were later in the day, we would definitely attend. She replied that she was secretly praying for a late game time. :) Well her prayers were answered. I was glad he could participate and that my parents could see him perform. For one of the songs, he was part of a small group (7 individuals) who sang at the beginning.

For this performance, about 67 students were able to participate. His choir did great and ended up receiving top honors earning the Most Outstanding Choral Performance.

Both boys had their mission training Sunday afternoon, however since Casen's training was an hour shorter than Camden's, we had an hour to kill. Casen has been begging to try boba tea, so we found a place close to the church to try. Taro milk tea for the win!

Today, Casen's choir had another competition at the Berry Center, so I was able to sneak away and go watch the choir perform. Due to this competition being during the school day, 92 students participated in the contest. His choir had another wonderful performance and "superior" ratings from all 3 judges. His choir was again awarded the highest award possible, only given to one choir out of the whole contest.

Grateful for a great week!
