Getting Ready

With Halloween drawing near, I decided that today Camden could start wearing his different Halloween outfits to school as well as his Halloween pajamas to bed. If I do say so myself, he looks really good in orange!

Weekend Fun

This weekend we headed to Lumberton so that Shane could celebrate his birthday with his family. Of course, Camden got lots of goodies from his Nana and Poppa Ron. He got books, a Tonka truck (big boy toy) and clothes!

After church, we stopped at Wal-Mart so Camden could finally meet his great uncle Stinker. We surprised Stinker, so he was ALL smiles when he got to hold Camden.

Momma

I have been trying to teach Camden since he was at least 2 months old to say 'Momma.' I was bound and determined for him to say 'Momma' before the words 'Da Da' came out of that sweet little mouth. Well, a few weeks after moving to Tomball, as I was again working with Camden to say 'Momma' my nephew, Braden, informed me that Shane has been working with him to say 'Da Da'. Boy was I shocked, because according to Shane, he has not even talked to Camden about that! BUSTED!!! Well, not a week or two later, I overhead that sweet angel of mine saying the word that he was not supposed to say yet! But, lo and behold, today he finally said the sweet word that every mother waits to hear their child say, 'Momma'. I told Camden he should have said it a day earlier and that would have been the perfect birthday gift for his daddy. ; ) Now, I do realize that he is unaware as to what he is saying, but I can assure you, it is still so sweet to hear it. I also realize that in a few years I will be asking myself why I ever wanted him to say my name! Until then, I will enjoy hearing his sweet little voice call my name.

Happy Birthday Shane

Today was Shane's birthday and Camden was very thrilled about the card he got his daddy! Unfortunately, due to his mother's error, the Alabama socks that Camden got for his daddy did not show up today. However, they should be here tomorrow! Camden was already in bed by the time we were able to sit down and celebrate Shane's birthday, so he did not get to enjoy the festivities of pizza and chocolate cake! Happy Birthday Shane - We love you!!!

Big Boy Chair

Up until now, we have been feeding Camden in the Boppy with a tray on it. He has liked it and did great in it, but he has now discovered how to bounce while sitting in it. He looks like he is riding a bucking bull. So, to keep him safe, we bought him a new high chair/booster seat - also known as a big boy chair! He really does like it. Now, bring on the food!!!

A Big Boy Toy

Yesterday while I was at Target, I decided it was past due time to buy Camden a toy that was for a 'big boy'. I was looking for a toy that was educational and would also test his finger/hand dexterity. I ended up with a small box of colored shapes that eventually he can put in the appropriate slots. He really seemed to enjoy them. I probably should have bought him a musical type toy also since the teachers at school say he LOVES music time. Next time I suppose . . . .

Enjoying his big boy toy.

Look at that face - he is really concentrating.

A Few Funnies from the Week

On Tuesday when I dropped Camden off at school, one of his teachers was chuckling and told me that on Monday they were just laughing and laughing at my child. Apparently, Camden was sitting next to a baby that was crying mad. My child was just looking at him and laughing hard. He found it humorous that the baby was crying!! The ladies said that he had them just cracking up since he was laughing at his friend crying. I hope he learns that that is not an appropriate response to someone crying!!

On Wednesday, I went to pick Camden up from school. As I walked into the room, I spotted him doing something I was not expecting. He was in a jumper/exersaucer contraption just jumping up and down, going to town, and laughing the whole entire time. When he saw me watching him, he made this "uh-oh, I am busted" face. You see, at home we have a Johnny Jumper that I have tried him in multiple times and he is not the least bit thrilled to be in it. This contraption he was in, was basically the same concept, it just didn't hang from a door frame like the Johnny Jumper. So he was BUSTED!!!

Camden now finds all sorts of different things to be very humorous. He likes to make a sound, and then when you make the same sound back to him, he just laughs and laughs. He likes to laugh at Braden when he throws a ball up in the air and catches it. He smiles so big when Mason looks at him with a surprised look or when Melissa snorts in his face. Don't you wonder what goes through their little heads?
